TALKING THERAPY - AN OVERVIEW

Talking therapies are treatments delivered by trained professionals and can be best understood as a collective term for a variety of psychological treatments for mental and emotional problems like stress, anxiety depression and addictions.

The therapy sessions may be one-to-one, couple based or in group setting. Whilst there are several different types of therapies available in Talking Therapy based sessions , they all seek to provide a safe and non-judgmental environment to discuss issues that help individuals to make sense of things and understand themselves better. Sometimes certain forms of addictions lend themselves to the benefits of others sharing their experiences with others. If an individual requests a group session , your therapist will arrange for a suitable number of like minded clients to be present at the session. The sessions will be subject to a selected therapy session date of which you will be notified and not automatically selected in the process of therapy bookings

Therapy will provide an opportunity to help resolve complicated emotions and identify more clearly unhelpful patterns of thinking and unhealthy activities that are used as coping strategies. The process should allow  individuals to replace unhealthy coping mechanisms with healthy ones  and for them to make more informed decisions to help manage their life and relationships more effectively in the future.

Talking therapy also allows for a greater flexibility in availing everyone to access therapy via modern forms of communication methods such as Skype, Zoom, WhatsAp, Telegram and Viber.

For confidentiality and security  purposes our preferred method of communication is via the medium of  Zoom
